two evolutionary experts speak at lakehead u

"misinterpreting great ideas: the cost of evolutionary ignorance"

(thunder bay - march 3, 2004) the first 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 eminent scholars' forum, "misinterpreting great ideas: the cost of evolutionary ignorance," is taking place tuesday, march 8 at 6:30 p.m. in uc-1017.

two undisputed world experts on evolution, and evolutionary thought, will participate in the forum. dr. michael ruse, florida state university, will present "darwinism and atheism: a marriage made in heaven?" dr. graham bell, mcgill university, will present "the evolutionary biology of social concern."

this is an interdisciplinary event aimed at bringing lakehead u's graduate 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 together in the sharing of ideas, but is open to all staff, faculty, 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 , and the general public.

members of the media are invited to attend, however, interviews with the forum organizers can be set up on march 4 and 7. interviews with the speakers can take place at approximately 6 p.m. on march 8.

dr. michael ruse (frsc, professor of philosophy at florida state university) is, perhaps, the pre-eminent evolutionary thinker of our time. dr. ruse founded and is editor of biology and philosophy, is editor of the cambridge university press series on "philosophy of biology", has authored more than 30 books dealing with evolution, philosophy, history, and theology, and is perhaps best known for his trilogy "monod to man," "mystery of mysteries," and "darwin and design."

dr. graham bell (frsc, professor and director of the redpath museum, mcgill university) is a prolific author of more than 90 peer-reviewed papers on the dynamics of evolution dealing with topics such as adaptation, molecular evolution, the evolution of sex and gender, as well as four books ("the masterpiece of nature," "sex and death in protozoa," "basics of selection," and "selection: the mechanism of evolution").
