early navigation subject of first lecture in 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 - orillia meet-the-professors lecture series – public welcome
(october 9, 2007, orillia ontario) following on the heels of its very successful first meet-the-professors lecture series last year, 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜
- orillia campus is launching its second lecture series on october 11. the lecture takes place in lecture hall lu 0004 of heritage place (1 colborne street west). all presentations will be held from 7:00-9:00 pm, and the public is invited.
on october 11, dr. tim kaiser, an anthropologist whose field work in europe over the past three decades has focused on the archaeology of the balkans, will kick off the series with his presentation on "ancient mariners of the adriatic: archaeological perspectives on early navigation."
on october 18, dr. thomas stiff, a physicist and consultant for nasa and the canadian space agency, will give the second lecture in the series on "surviving in space."
other lectures in the series include those by sociology professor kevin willison on "chronic disease management in canada and the potential of complementary and alternative medicine: hope or hype?" (november 1); history professor dr. daphne bonar on "the weaker sex? women and power in history" (november 15), and psychology professor sharon sally on "the magic of ventriloquism: what does it tell us about perception?" (november 29).
