dr. bill montelpare of 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 's school of kinesiology will lead the research, which aims to create a newer, safer approach to playing hockey. montelpare, 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 researchers, and malcolm sutherland of play it cool™, will introduce and orient kings' players and team executives to this study, and to the play it cool™ program.
play it cool™ is a skill-enhancement program that works to reduce the incidence of neurotrauma in young athletes. developed by malcolm sutherland and the canadian spinal research organization, play it cool™ is an 8-week e-learning course that provides coaches the opportunity to benefit through shared learning. coaches are guided through the curriculum by expert facilitators, and their online learning is supported by a community of fellow coaches. play it cool™ aims to instill in players, coaches, and families the belief that skill enhancement and education is the key to injury prevention.
the study is expected to help researchers understand the mechanism of brain injuries, with particular focus on concussions and their short-term and long-term impacts on hockey players. research methods will measure players' fitness levels, balance, biomechanics, attention, and focus during both the pre-season and post-season.
