阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 appoints campus dean, orillia campus

is pleased to announce the appointment of dr. kim fedderson to the position of campus dean, orillia campus. dr. fedderson will report directly to dr. fred gilbert, president of 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜
, and will begin his new role on january 1, 2008.
prior to january 1, dr. fedderson will spend four weeks at the orillia campus to ensure a smooth transition. during this time, he will familiarize himself with program, faculty, and staff requirements; campus operations; and the community of orillia.dr. fred gilbert, president of 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 says, "the campus dean, orillia campus is a particularly sensitive post due to the strategic importance of the campus in southern ontario and its contribution to the overall growth of 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 . the campus dean will be working very closely with the community as we develop the permanent location for the university in orillia, and with 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 's administration and staff as he continues the academic program development work that has been initiated by his colleagues."
dr. fedderson obtained an honours b. a. from the university of toronto in 1975, an m. a. in english from the university of toronto in 1977, and a ph.d. in english from york university in 1985.
he joined the department of english at 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 in 1989 and served as its chair between 1998 and 2001. he also served as a visiting professor at yunnan university in china in 1985 and at gifu university for education and languages in japan in 1995. he has a passion for teaching, and 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 recognized his contributions in 1998, naming him a distinguished instructor. during his tenure as chair of english, and later as acting dean and then dean of the faculty of social sciences and humanities from 2001 and 2006, he championed, through the academic and strategic planning processes, a variety of initiatives to enhance teaching and learning at the university.
an active researcher, he has published extensively on rhetorical theory and post-secondary pedagogy, and continues his work on shakespearean adaptation with his long-standing collaborator, dr j. m. richardson. he has also been active in the community and has served on a variety of boards such as magnus theatre and the north of superior film association.
his interest in creating learning environments in which learners can realize their potential led him to accept the invitation of confederation college--a nationally recognized centre of excellence for accessible post-secondary education--to become its vice president, academic and student services in 2006. in that role, he led the development of the college's new academic plan and its learning commons.
dr. fedderson is delighted to be returning to lakehead in the role of orillia campus' dean. "what first attracted me to 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 was its reputation for learner-centred education. when i joined the university in 1989, i had the immense good fortune to be surrounded by scholars--teachers and researchers--who were really committed to helping 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 succeed. i have always believed that when it comes to teaching and learning lakehead is a very special place. in some ways, that reputation has been kept too close to the chest. i think it's time to share with others what lakehead does so well, and especially with the people of orillia who for a very long time had been looking to establish a university in their community. this is a great opportunity and an exciting alignment of interests."
a long-time colleague of many staff and faculty members at lakehead, dr. fedderson replaces dr. sally-ann burnett, current director of operations at the orillia campus, who returns to england at the end of september.
