crown ward visits to 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 's campus presents youth with options

(august 20, 2007 - thunder bay, on) today, 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 will host 35 crown wards and their support workers for post-secondary education day. the event aims to support crown wards' completion of high school, as well as their subsequent transition to, and success with, post-secondary education and training.

because youth who grow up in the care of the province often face unique and multiple barriers to succeeding in their educational ventures, the program works to raise the 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 ' awareness of the variety of options available to them after graduating from high school.

committee representatives from the university, alongside those from confederation college, dilico family services, the children's aid society, and thunder bay's publicly funded post secondary education institutions, comprise the newly created thunder bay crown ward education championship team. this team proposes, through a collaborative effort, to establish an integrated support system designed to improve the educational outcomes for crown wards. by building on existing programs and creating new and exciting outreach initiatives to bridge current gaps, team members are confident they can meet the shared goal of improving participation and successful educational outcomes, and ultimately building brighter futures for these youth.

representing lakehead's involvement in the project are andrea huillery, regional recruitment officer, and gwen wojda, acting vice-provost of student affairs. "the time the crown wards spend at lakehead will give them a feel for the campus environment, and the services that lakehead offers," says huillery. "by touring our campus," adds wojda, "we're hoping the first-hand visit generates interest and excitement in these 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 , and lets them realize what successes can come from obtaining a degree from 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 ."

the crown wards will visit the university's facilities until 1:00 p.m. the day's agenda includes a general campus tour, a fitness session in the hangar, hands-on learning activities in the insect laboratory, a smart classroom demonstration, and a bbq lunch in the william (bill) tamblyn centennial building courtyard.

in addition to thunder bay, london, ottawa, and toronto have also been selected as pilot communities to build these championship teams.
