is gearing up for its biggest ever convocation, with the double cohort graduating in may. with over 2300 graduands this year, lakehead is adding an extra convocation ceremony on friday afternoon, may 25, in addition to the usual saturday morning and afternoon ceremonies.
the first convocation ceremony will begin at the thunder bay community auditorium at 2:30 p.m., friday, may 25. the next two convocation ceremonies will begin at 9:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. saturday, may 26.
six exemplary individuals will be honoured at convocation 2007. three honorary degrees and a fellow of 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 award will be presented to the following individuals (see bios attached):

goyce kakegamic - aboriginal educator, artist, and community leader in northwestern ontario (friday afternoon), presented with a doctor of letters, honoris causa
dick pound - lawyer, businessman, and leader in the canadian and international olympic movement (saturday morning), presented with a doctor of laws, honoris causa
dr. david strangway - distinguished researcher and university administrator (saturday afternoon), presented with a doctor of science, honoris causa
richard buset, a lakehead graduate, lawyer, and long-time supporter of the university, will be presented with the title fellow of 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 on saturday morning.
in addition, the alumni honour award will be presented to gwen dubois-wing, a graduate of the school of nursing, and currently chief executive officer of the northwest local health integration network. the young alumni award will be presented to james dennison, a graduate of the faculty of business administration and currently assistant vice president, risk management, cibc mellon global securities (gss) and trust (cmt) company. both will be honored by the office of alumni relations at a gala dinner on friday, may 25.
university president fred gilbert says, "to see the double cohort graduate is truly a milestone - for the 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 , their families, and for the entire university. in 2003 when the double cohort came on campus, the university's entire academic and administrative operations were geared toward supporting the needs of this group. and the successful completion of studies for most of these 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 is a clear indication that both they and the institution have succeeded in our common goal.
"we are also very pleased with the quality of our awardees - all of whom exemplify the personal, professional, and community-oriented values we strive to inculcate in our 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 . i consider lakehead to be very fortunate to have outstanding friends, supporters, and alumni. and we fully expect our latest crop of graduates to do the university proud."
