first new investigator award from heart and stroke foundation of canada at 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜

(june 12, 2009 - thunder bay, on) a researcher from 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 was recently awarded $60,000 a year for a five-year period by the heart and stroke foundation of canada. dr. guangdong yang, a research assistant professor at the school of kinesiology, will receive this new investigator salary award commencing july 1, 2009, for a research project entitled "regulation of cystathionine gamma-lyase expression in vascular smooth muscle cells." dr. yang has also received an operating grant from cihr with a value of $330,648 to support his research activity.

statistics indicate that globally, cardiovascular diseases are the number one cause of death and are projected to remain so. through multidisciplinary research methods and techniques, dr. yang's project investigates the gene expressions and their effects on the development of vascular disorders. the study is expected to enhance understanding of the pathogenesis of vascular diseases, leading to the development of corresponding therapeutic interventions.

according to dr. rui wang, vice-president (research), the heart and stroke foundation of canada new investigator award is given to individuals who have clearly demonstrated excellence in their doctoral and post-doctoral training in cardiovascular or cerebrovascular research. he noted, "the new investigator award is a very competitive undertaking, and dr. yang's award is an acknowledgment of the quality of his work. dr. yang's success is another testimony of the research strength and excellence of 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 ."

dr. yang said, "i am very pleased with this award, which will go a long way in helping me achieve the goals of my study. i am excited to start my independent research career at lakehead and have full confidence to excel here. i greatly appreciate the support that 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 has provided me."

dr. yang is one of eleven scientists in canada who received this prestigious award in the recent competition. in addition to this first-ever new investigator award of heart and stroke foundation of canada to lakehead, mr. sean bryan and dr. machha ajay, both supervised by dr. rui wang in previous competitions, had respectively received a graduate 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 hip and a post-doctoral fellowship award from the heart and stroke foundation.
