otava mixed choir directed by kosti koivukoski, port arthur, 1939. (otava choir was formed in 1938, was a mixed choir until 1952 when it became a male choir. the women were assimilated into the oras choir which was changing from a mixed to a ladies choir. in 1940, the mixed otava choir won first prize for mixed choirs at the lakehead music festival in thunder bay.) donor: thunder bay finnish canadian historical society.
