gerry martin is a former nurse and a student of traditional aboriginal healing methods. he is from the mattagami first nation of ojibways in northeaster ontario near timmins. gerry feels very comfortable teaching, learning and sharing his knowledge of traditional aboriginal healing methods and considers it a life-long journery to learn more. he is a son, father, and grandfather and great-grandpa who follows his destiny and enjoys life to the fullest.

elder ron linklater retired in 2015 from the addictions foundation of manitoba where he worked as a prevention education consultant and provided training and skills development for people in the helping field. he has over 40 years work experience in the addictions field and continues to provide a unique set of knowledge,

skills and cultural worldview for people who will eventually work in indigenous communities. prior to working for the addictions foundation of manitoba, he held various positions within health canada such as the ontario regional consultant for the national native alcohol drug abuse program, manager of aboriginal treatment services for ontario region and manitoba regional consultant for the national native alcohol drug abuse program. ron began his career working at st. joseph’s general hospital in thunder bay, ontario as an alcohol and drug counsellor for the options for youth out patient program and later became the young adult treatment program coordinator. ron received his bachelor of arts degree from 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 and has a certificate in native counselling from confederation college of applied arts and technology. ron is the chair of the mikaaming mino pimatiziwin healing lodge located in sagkeeng first nation in manitoba. ron lives in thunder bay and is from the treaty #3 territory and a member of couchiching first nation located near fort francis, ontario.

elder beatrice twance-hynes is from the bear clan (maternal), deer clan (paternal) and from the biigtigong first nation (formerly pic river first nation). she has lived in thunder bay since 1988 with her husband gerry. she is a wife, mother, and grandmother.  beatrice has a native teacher’s certificate from 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 and an ontario management development certificate from confederation college and numerous courses in human resources.  she has worked in human resources at dilico anishinabek family care, and has been their cultural manager since december 2012. beatrice is a traditional women’s dancer who makes her own regalia. she is a grandmother pipe carrier, a sacred circle facilitator, songwriter, singer and drummer.

she shares teachings on the medicine wheel, the sacred medicines, and the seven sacred grandfathers, women and water teachings, and teachings on the hand drum, drum-making and birthing. she facilitates sacred circles.  in her role as cultural manager, beatrice has had the opportunity to sit in on traditional healing sessions with a traditional healer since january 2014 and has learned a lot of teachings.  beatrice has been a member of the elders advisory council, aboriginal liaison with the city of thunder bay since december 2013 and a member of the elders council at 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 since april 2015.  she is also one the elders-in-residence at 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 .

we will come together to write our dreams and goals with intention, and create a vision board that will help you focus and attract your ideal outcomes to you. we will discuss the meaning of vision board and you will learn tips and tricks for bringing it to life. we must let ourselves dream again and doing it together in a fun environment is key! light refreshments will be provided.

sweat lodge ceremony

阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜  sweat lodge site

elder gene nowegejick, will be conducting a sweat lodge ceremony on wednesday, november 30th, 2022 starting at 3 pm at the 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 sweat lodge site. women should wear long skirts and a t-shirt. men should wear shorts. be sure to bring a towel. participants are encouraged to bring the elder a tobacco offering which is available at issc (uc1007). women who are on their moon time must not participate in the sweat lodge ceremony or handle ceremonial items.
