community-based art project with tashie broadbent

my name is natasha and i’m an anishinaabekwe artist from manitou rapids. i'm currently studying visual arts at 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 , however my artistic journey started when i was much younger. creating art was one of my earliest interactions with my culture and serves as an act of resurgence. i began painting and practicing traditional crafts when i was 12. i was heavily inspired by the artists that surrounded the powwow circles my family went to and i soon found myself among them. in recent years, i have been focusing on reconnecting with my culture and developing my art in both a technical and personal way.

session 1: september 9, 2024 12:30 - 2pm (agora circle by the tipi - rain location agora)

join us with indigenous artist tashie broadbent for a conversation to share what reconciliation means to you? from this session tashie will create a piece that we will paint as a community. 

session 2: sept 16, 2024 - 12:30 - 2pm (agora)

join us and participate in painting a permanent piece to be exhibited on campus
