advancing accessibility standards research program: call for expressions of interest
purpose: to fund research projects that inform the development of next-generation accessibility standards.
these are model standards that fall within federal areas of responsibility. your research project must align with this purpose.
projects funded under this program must involve:
- people with disabilities
- experts with disabilities and lived experience
- other experts and organizations.
partnership development grants
partnership development grants are expected to respond to the objectives of the research partnerships program.
these grants provide support over one to three years to teams/partnerships, led by a project director, to:
- develop research and/or related activities in the social sciences and humanities—these can include knowledge mobilization and the meaningful involvement of 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 and emerging scholars—by fostering new partnerships with existing and/or potential partners; or
- design and test new partnership approaches for research and/or related activities that can result in best practices or models—these can either be adapted by others or have the potential to be scaled up to a regional, national or international level.
partnership funding is intended for formal partnerships between postsecondary institutions and/or organizations of various types. for more information, see the definitions for formal partnership and partner organization.
the quality of training, mentoring and employability plans for 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 and emerging scholars will be evaluated as an important part of the proposed initiative. sshrc’s guidelines for effective research training explain how 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 and emerging scholars can meaningfully participate in proposed initiatives.
the intellectual leadership and governance for the creation of a formal partnership can come from the research community and/or from partner organizations from the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. however, only an institution that meets the institutional eligibility requirements can administer the grant funding, once awarded. for more information related to partnership development grants, see the eligibility section.
sshrc invites applicants and their partner organizations who wish to propose formal disciplinary, interdisciplinary, interinstitutional, international and/or cross-sector partnership arrangements to apply for support through this funding opportunity. funds are available to support a variety of formal partnership development initiatives in all the disciplines and themes that meet sshrc’s subject matter eligibility guidelines.

sshrc postdoctoral fellowships
sshrc postdoctoral fellowships are expected to respond to the objectives of the research training and talent development.
these fellowships support the most promising canadian new scholars in the social sciences and humanities, and assist them in establishing a research base at an important time in their research careers.
the purpose of these fellowships is to provide stipendiary support to recent phd graduates who are:
- undertaking original research;
- publishing research findings;
- developing and expanding personal research networks;
- broadening their teaching experience;
- preparing for research-intensive careers within and beyond academia; and
- preparing to become competitive in national research grant competitions.
sshrc postdoctoral fellowship awards are tenable at canadian or foreign universities and research institutions.
sshrc welcomes applications involving indigenous research, as well as those involving research-creation.
energy innovation program – renewable energy demonstrations call
aligned with oerd’s commitment to driving innovation to accelerate canada’s clean energy transition, the renewable energy demonstration call (“the call”) will fund demonstration projects that will help advance innovative renewable heat or power generation and/or integration through novel applications that provide local benefits.
the call will fund projects addressing one or more of the following objectives:
- increase local participation in, and local benefits of, renewable energy generation and use;
- improve the reliability and accessibility of renewable energy generation;
- reduce environmental impacts and contribute to canada's net-zero goals; and/or,
- advance replicable renewable energy solutions through innovation.
for this call, renewable resources are limited to solar, wind, geothermal, and marine (tidal, wave, or river current) energy.
eureka network resilience call for proposals 2024-25
applicants must form a project consortium and develop a collaborative research and development (r&d) project that meets the following criteria:

- the project consortium must include at least:
- 1 eligible canadian sme
- 1 eligible foreign partner from one of the participating countries/regions listed for this call
- the parties listed above must be unrelated parties (i.e., no direct, indirect, beneficial or constructive ownership interest between these parties)
- participation of canadian research institutes, universities, large enterprises and other companies are welcome as additional participants on a self-funding basis or as subcontractors.
- the project partners that form the consortium must agree on a plan addressing intellectual property rights and intent to commercialize.
eureka has launched a multilateral call for proposals for joint research and development (r&d) projects in the field of disaster resilience, response and recovery. participating countries include canada, austria, belgium (flanders & wallonia), chile, czech republic, denmark, france, lithuania, singapore, south korea, spain, türkiye, and the united kingdom.
this call for proposals is open to small and medium-sized enterprises (smes) from canada who wish to form project consortia to perform collaborative projects focused on developing innovative products, processes or technology-based services.

catalyst grant: avian influenza one health research
the purpose of this funding opportunity is to catalyze urgent research that addresses evidence gaps related to the current outbreaks of hpai. in alignment with the concept of one health endorsed by the quadripartite organizations' one health joint plan of action, this funding opportunity will support research activities at the interface of human, animal (including domestic and wildlife), and environmental systems, that is inclusive of diverse perspectives and approaches including indigenous ways of knowing.
the specific objectives of this funding opportunity are to:
- enable researchers to rapidly generate interdisciplinary, high-quality and real-time evidence that can enhance canada's response related to the current outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza a(h5n1);
- support cross-sectoral and interdisciplinary research collaborations that can support one health* approaches to sustainably prevent, prepare for, and respond to the current outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza a(h5n1);
- support rapid mobilization of evidence to support knowledge users including policy-makers, clinicians, public health organizations, animal health professionals, representatives from agricultural sectors, wildlife conservation organizations, and local communities, including indigenous communities, where relevant.
to be relevant to the competition applications must address all three (3) objectives of this funding opportunity.

great lakes local action fund
the great lakes local action fund provides funding to projects that help communities take action to increase climate change resiliency and protect or improve water quality in the great lakes ecosystem.
funding is available for projects occurring between january 1, 2025, and december 31, 2025.
