a human experience - workshops
the office of community engagement & lifelong learning is hosting whitney page's workshop series that can be done as half days or combined into a full day of learning and reflection. ask about planning this important human-centered learning for your group, business, or organization.
the fundamental workshops
workshop 1: permission to be human | exploring personal experiences of regulation and trying to feel better
delivery: in-person;
time invested: 3 hours (minimum)
participant count: 5 minimum/30 maximum
prerequisite: none
in workshop 1, participants will experience an environment where they can engage with the material without the expectation of performative participation or needing to walk away as an expert. folks will be invited to explore their own lived experiences with self-regulation, emotions, and what it feels like to navigate being human. participants will be introduced to a concept/tool that allows them to check-in with themselves and others in a way that is simple, yet deeply meaningful – a way to share how they’re feeling without having to talk about how they’re feeling. concepts such as personal baseline, masking, and feeling better will be explored, as well as how to show up for yourself and others in a truly authentic way. workshop 2: reimagining identity | defining you in your own words
delivery: in-person;
time invested: 3 hours (minimum)
participant count: 5 minimum/30 maximum
prerequisite: workshop 1
building on the concepts and tools offered in workshop 1, participants will be invited to explore the construction of their own identity through gentle curiosity and facilitated reflection. participants will be encouraged to consider the meaning, assumptions, and congruence of the many identities they hold. participants will be introduced to a tool that allows them to redefine and reclaim their own identity in a more meaningful and authentic way. this workshop completes ‘the foundation’ of a human experience, and provides participants new language, shared experiences, and personal insights to continue their personal or professional development grounded in meaningful self-awareness and authentic empathy for other human experiences.
whitney page (they/she) is a speaker, facilitator, co-creator, and systems disruptor with 15+ years in mental health, education, and equity-focused systems change. a queer, adhd-brained innovator, whitney is passionate about demystifying ‘diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging’ by simplifying concepts and helping folks reimagine possibilities through a human-centred lens.
as the founder of a human experience, whitney offers workshops, keynotes, and retreats that invite curiosity, personal exploration, and levity while providing practical tools that are as impactful as they are simple. they can often be found cleaning their rock collection, learning (and forgetting) random skills, sing talking while puttering around the house, and spending time with her favorite humans
