dr. hanna wickstrom is an adjunct professor in the faculty of education at the lakehead orillia campus. she has a phd in developmental psychology and education from the university of toronto, and a master's in child study and education from the dr. eric jackman institute of child study, at the university of toronto. her sshrc-funded research focuses on early years education, and currently addresses how educators support critical foundational academic skills through the integration of teacher-facilitated play and direct instruction. hanna is also an experienced classroom teacher, specializing in early years and primary education. she has worked in public education for over a decade, and is currently an occasional teacher for the simcoe county district school board.
